Heritage Gardens Refurbishment!

Councillor Rebecca Wilczek officially opened the refurbished Heritage Gardens Play area today. The cost of refurbishing the play area and installing the new equipment totalled £45,937. The project has been funded by the Parish Council supported by a £10,000 contribution from Councillor Wilczek’s Members Local Improvement Scheme Fund, and £1,392.50 NCC Housing Developer Fund.
We have listened to residents’ concerns regarding the Wetpour surface which was prone to trip hazards, caused by shrinkage and regular vandalism. We have completely removed this, and it has been replaced with a grass surface, which not only enhances the biodiversity of the facility, but will save taxpayers money in years to come on costly repairs.
The grass surface will need to settle and become established. It will be a little muddy in wet weather, please bear this in mind when taking your little ones to enjoy the new equipment. We will monitor this, and our Outdoor Services Officer will be checking it on a regular basis.
The Parish Council has now completed the refurbishment of the play areas for which it has responsibility. If you notice any issues with our play areas, please contact the Parish Office on 01670 828808 or email us clerk@eastbedlingtonparishcouncil.gov.uk
